What is the best way to teach writing to children?to teenagers?

The best way to teach writing is leaving them to write their own stories, letters for example: show them a picture and they think a situation and create a little storie, they development their thought, teachers could help them with some words in relation with the picture and I think it could be easier and funny for children.
For teenagers I think creating a blog is a perfect idea because they enjoy with technology.
We as teachers must to be very creative fot them in each class.
*create stories
*writing letters for classmates (secret friend for christmas)

Why is writing important for an EFL teacher?

Is very important because if you write in a good way, you have a good structure about of grammar, you speak is perfect too. and as future teachers we must to be able to teach in a good way for our future students.

Opinion

1. What is your opinion about using blogs to teach "writing" in EFL classrooms?

Students can contribute a lot of knowledge and imagination through blogs, writing fun stories, doing homeworks every week, showing their skills in a different form, writing and sharing differents opinions between classmates and every time they write a comment or publish a new post then they check the language.

2. Do you like working using blogs?

Yes, is a wonderful idea working with blogs because I enjoy with the technology and I can share ideas, thoughts and give differents opinions in the other blogs of my classmates. I use my imagination and creativity in each activity.

3. What are some of the advantages of using blogs ?

I think that some advantages are: students can practice the English language through writing and between classmates can correct their spelling, grammar, etc. On the other hand students can development their imagination and creativity writing and inventing differents stories and share it in the web site.

4. What are some of the disadvantages?

A disvantage is the plagiarism because everyone found on the internet complete works of other authors and any person can take it copy and paste, in the same situation is it because many students go to the internet and search about their requirements with respect homeworks and they are doing it is because is more easy and quick but they lie for themselves.

5. Do you plan to use blogs in the future?

Is a great idea use blogs in my English class in the future, because students enjoy a lot with the technology and using the internet of it form, because I found that is a different form to teach English language and to capture the attention of the students. I want to have the necessaries resources in my work to use blogs in my future English class.

An interesting article of "Times online"

Do five simple things a day to stay sane, say scientists.

I consider this article interesting because we live in a wonderful world and is very important to begin the day in a good way, positively, optimistically. For this reason I show this article for you, simple things to start the day.
If we are living with God in our hearts and minds all is better because a personal relationship with God is the only way to have true happiness.
“Waking up is always a good way to star the day”

A brief summary

Simple activities such as gardening or mending a bicycle can protect mental health and help people to lead more fulfilled and productive lives, a panel of scientists has found. People should try to connect with others, to be active, some suggestions such as “catch sight of the beautiful” and “savour the moment” are great words because we must use the maximum time in each activity.Critics of the recommendation said that the Government and health professionals ought not to be prescribing individual behaviour in this way. “The implication is that if you don’t do these banal things, you could get seriously mentally ill, and that trivialises serious mental illness.
Felicia Huppert, Professor of Psychology at the University of Cambridge said: “We found there are five categories of things that can make a profound difference to people’s wellbeing.
Cary Cooper, Professor of Organisational Psychology and Health at the University of Lancaster, a co ordinator of the report, said: “People who choose to work flexibly are more job-satisfied, healthier and more productive.”

Steps to happiness:
Connect:
Developing relationships with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours will enrich your life and bring you support.
Be active: Sports, hobbies such as gardening or dancing, or just a daily stroll will make you feel good and maintain mobility and fitness.
Be curious: Noting the beauty of everyday moments as well as the unusual and reflecting on them helps you to appreciate what matters to you.
Learn: Fixing a bike, learning an instrument, cooking , the challenge and satisfaction brings fun and confidence.
Give: Helping friends and strangers links your happiness to a wider community and is very rewarding.

2 new words or expressions:

Catch sight of : to see something briefly.
Well being: the state of being well, happy, healthy.

Friendly, honest, happy and funny

Who loves traveling with her friends, music and movies

Who is afraid of mice, darkness and earthquakes

Who wants to see peace in the world, Rome and England

Resident of love

Sometimes can be happiness or sadness

Somebody can fall in love with these words

And never stop writing

You are discovering the wonderful world of writing.

"Interview"

Roque del Tránsito González Correa, was born on August 15th, 1957 in San Fabian de Alico. His parents were Ignacio González and Gorja Correa. He was the 4th child of his family. H e studied in San Carlos. In this place he studied primary and secondary education. Later the studied in Talca and he obtained the title of "Teacher of Music". His life was very hard because he traveled from San Carlos to Talca by train every day. His mother worked very hard to buy him materials. His father worked very hard for his other children too.
Nowadays he works in Portezuelo"Liceo Nuestra Señora del Carmen".

1. What do you think about our "roots" in our country. Are they important?
I think that young people do not have conscience about their own roots, about their ancestors. They are worried about fashion, clothes, boyfriends, girlfriends, parties, etc. Many people are embarrased to have indigenous roots. This happens because they donot have information.
2. What is your experience as a teacher of music through your life?
My experience at the beginning was very strong. When I worked in Santiago I had a bad experience, one day. When I was teaching in a school I put my briefcase on the table and inside I had my salary. My own students stole me. It was a horrible situation. Later I came back to my region and I found a job there. I have had great satisfactions as a teacher. I had a recognition for my years of service. On the other hand, I went to Germany in 2000 for a Pasantia with other teachers of the country. It was a great experience for my work and myself.

3. When you went to Germany, What new experiences did you learn?
Wow, I could see a new culture. I was in class with children of that country. We shared with teachers of Germany and Chile too. We exchanged experiences, methods for teaching, we worked as a team. I learnt to make different instruments and later I was able to teach that. It is an excellent and interesting method to teach my students and they have more interest for music. We visited some countries too as France, Spain, Austria, Eslovaquia and Denmark. This trip was a great experience for me and my curriculum too, it was a gift that I will never forget.

4. How is your relationship between you and your students?
My relationship with my students is very good. My students respect me and I respect them too. Inside and outside of the class room have good comunication. I have a workshop of music in a different. There are many children and young people in my class, they have interest in learning. Every year we have a presentation in Portezuelo with students and other guests of other places. We have payadores, Folk groups, "cantoras", all about folk music. It is called "Encuentro de Payadores".

5. Tell me more about "Encuentro de Payadores"
Every year the "Encuentro de Payadores"is dedicated to an important representative of folk. This year was Victor Jara. This event started in 1991. There are 2 days when people show their faith to the virgin and they give thanks for the harvest. At the beginning they sing to the divine in the temple. The most important figure is the virgin. The "cantores" sing during the night in a vigil that is followed by many people.
The second day the "cantores" sing to the human where the payadores show their popular talents.

6. If you could make some changes in your class or improve something, what changes would you make and why?
I would like that every student could have their own instrument and the class could be more personal because when you have a lot of students in a class, you must have all the students busy working. However, this is not my problem because I know how manage to a class. I would like to have more instruments not only guitars and flutes. I would like to organize an orchestra with violins, violas, double basses, etc. but it´s still a project.
